Joann Agnew

Ms. Joann Agnew, age 83 of Riverhill Drive, Athens passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Athens Heritage. 

A daughter of the late Moses and Lola Agnew, she was born December 6, 1940 in Lavonia, Georgia having lived most of her life in Athens, Georgia. She was employed as a Nurse Practitioner throughout her life. Even after her passing, she has continued her devotion to medical studies by donating her body to the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. 

She was of the Baptist faith and a friend to everyone and would help anyone in any way she could. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Dale and Roger Jackson.  

Survivors include her sisters, Helen Agnew and Loretta Phillips of Athens; brother, O.L. Agnew of Toccoa; grandson, Kevin Jackson and his wife Kristal Jackson of Crestview, Florida; grandchild, Kiley Jackson; and a number of good friends and family members. 

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
