Linda Lois Baldwin, age 77, of Homer, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
Linda was born on December 23, 1946, in Gainesville, Georgia, to the late William Junior Smith and Florence Irene Marlow. Despite being raised in considerable poverty, Linda, much like her sisters, followed a strong work ethic into a career that included being Clerk of Superior Court in Gwinnett and Cherokee counties. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and since meeting her husband Robert Baldwin on a dance floor, has traveled the world with her prince of 19 years. Her final years were spent under the growing effects of Parkinsons and Lewy Body Dementia, where she exhibited great displays of love, strength, and grace. Even such a significant burden like this could not diminish the light of Linda that continues to bless us all in our minds, hearts, and hopes that we have of a future heavenly reunion. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Danny Joe Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Baldwin; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Lynn and Gary Spencer; son and daughter-in-law, Ross Rocky Wheeler and BreAnna Reid; sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley and Baron Newton, Sarah Booker, Betty Sue Smith, and Retha Davis; Stepson and daughter-in-law, David and Lisa Baldwin. Linda is also survived by her grandchildren and spouse, Josh and Laura Spencer, Jessica Spencer, Addy Wheeler, Katheryn Wheeler, Byron Wheeler, Andrew Baldwin and Brittany Baldwin; and 2 great grandchildren Riley Suggs and Aquiles Cervantes. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews with whom she, Aunt Linda, also shared her light and love.
