Linda Scales Mitchell

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Linda Scales Mitchell, age 80 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Wednesday, April 17, 2024.  Mrs. Mitchell wa born in Homer, Georgia a daughter of the late Paul Scales and the late Beatrice Adams Scales Eubanks.  Mrs. Mitchell retired from the Jefferson City School System, and was a member of Galilee Christian Church.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mitchell is preceded by her husband Gerald Randall Mitchell, Sr. “Jerry”, brother Phil Scales and a sister Becky Crawford.

Survivors include a daughter, Shane Chaisson and her husband Darrell of Jefferson.  Son, Mitch Mitchell and his wife Christy of Jefferson.  Grandchildren, Ridge Chaisson, Riley Chaisson, Chase Mitchell, and Brayson Mitchell.  Sister, Dr. Jane Scales and sister-in-law, Barbara Scales.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 20, 2024 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Karl Mealor, Bethe Kellum and Kyle Potts officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bethany Methodist Church Cemetery.  Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Donald Petering, Clay Dale, Billy Norris, Lamar Roberts, Clay Partridge, Blake Kellum, Mac Bray, Bill Mitchell, Drew Bray and Austin Payne.  The family will receive friends 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. prior to the service at Evans Funeral Home.
