Suzanna Bozarth Simpson

Suzanna Bozarth Simpson, 86, died Thursday, April 3, 2024. Suzanna’s birthday was February 19, 1938.

She was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, the daughter of Frank D. Bozarth and Ethyl Packer

Bozarth. She attended Sullins College in Virginia to study art and moved to Atlanta to work for Rich’s

Department Store in the early 1960’s. She was passionate in the things she loved, which ranged from the

riding and training of Arabian and Saddlebred horses, to being an accomplished seamstress. She

was an expert interior designer who contributed to many private properties and restaurants like The

Colonnade. Suzanna was much loved and enjoyed being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She will be dearly missed by family and by her horse-loving girl friends in Monroe Georgia. She is

survived by her former husband, Harris A. Simpson, and their three children, Mary Casey Simpson, Harris

Bozarth Simpson and James Barrington Simpson. Suzanna has seven grandchildren and one great

grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Scott Downs Bozarth, of Virginia Beach. Celebration of

Life Service will be held at 12 pm Saturday, April 20th in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, Georgia. The family will have visitation at the funeral home starting at 10:30 am until the service at noon.
