It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved brother, Dennis Edward Turner, who went to his heavenly home on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
Dennis was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 17, 1962. He was born with cerebral palsy and the doctor told his mother that he would not live to be one year old, but God had other plans for Dennis as he lived to be 61 years old. In 2005, Dennis was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and he was cancer free after that battle. Dennis was of the Baptist faith.
Dennis was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mae O. Mize; step-grandfather, Marvin C. Mize; mother, Ruby N. Turner; sister, Dollie J. Turner; nephew, Andrew “Andy” Turner; as well as several aunts and uncles; and special aunt, Freda Percival.
Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Deborah M. Virden (Bruce) of Lula; brothers and sisters-in-law, William F. Turner (Sandra) of Cornelia and Richard G. Turner (Vickie) of Mt. Airy; nephew, Damien Turner of Cornelia; great nephew, Wyatt Turner of Mt. Airy; great niece, Lana Turner of Mt. Airy; and a very special friend, Ella Trimiar of Cornelia who visited Dennis often and had Bible Study and prayer with Dennis.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and very dear.
