Gaynell Hooper, age 89 of Demorest, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024 at her residence.
Born in Hall County on January 19, 1935, Mrs. Hooper was the daughter of the late William Cicero Shockley and the late Izora Garner Shockley. Mrs. Hooper worked in textiles at Mt. Vernon Mills and she was a member of Habersham Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hooper is preceded in death by husband Jimmy Lamar Hooper, sons Donald Sosebee and David Sosebee and daughter Teresa Jean Sosebee.
Survivors include her daughter and caretaker Peggy Aguilar (Rito) of Demorest, granddaughter Jessica Cantrell (Jesse), grandson Adam Aguilar (Cassie), great grandchildren Bennett and Abigail Cantrell and Ezra Aguilar, sons Ronald Sosebee of Gainesville, Douglas Sosebee (Nora) of Gillsville, Glen Sosebee (Mildred) of Mt. Airy, Johnny Sosebee (Sandra) of Clarkesville, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and great-great grandson Hayden Peppers-Helton.
The family would like to thank the hospice care team, Crystal Corbin and CNA Bobbie Broner.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Pastor Doug Porter, officiating. Interment will follow the service in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 12th from 5-8 PM
