Annice Gay "Ann" Wood

Annice Gay "Ann" Wood, age 62, of Demorest, Georgia entered rest on Saturday, April 6, 2024.

Ms. Wood was born on September 23, 1961 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Herman Wood and Eunice Coalley Wood. Ann dedicated much of her life to helping others and spreading love in her community. She began her journey of service working as a caregiver to the elderly as well as assisting at care facilities, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity. Her desire to make a positive impact led her to work at convenience stores in the area, where she continued to share her love and brighten the days of those she encountered. Above all else, Ann cherished her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known affectionately as "Nana Ann" to her loved ones. Her family brought her immense joy, and she poured her heart into nurturing and supporting each member.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce Reid and Sara Cheek, of Baldwin; Theo and Crystal Wright, of Cornelia; daughter, Kendra Yarber, of Bowersville; grandchildren, Jodie Tanner, Bryson and Cassidy Cheek, Taylor Cheek, Cara Scroggs, Mya Scroggs, Summer Pedigo, TJ Wright, Bailee Yarber, Jaiden Webb, Kylon Wood: great-granddaughter, Iris Scroggs; sisters, Cindy Chitwood, Renea Bruce; brother, Dale Wood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with Rev. Tracey Davidson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Whitfield Funeral Homes & Crematory, P.O. Box 1113, Cornelia, Georgia 30531 to assist the family with final expenses.
