Mrs. Frances “Cricket” Grace Ingram Blalock, 90, of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024 at The Oaks at Limestone following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Darrin Cain and Rev. Robert Nix will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 9th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour.
Born on February 7, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Noah and Grace Peck Ingram. A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, she loved her family dearly.
Cricket was a longtime member, teacher and choir leader of Dewberry Baptist Church #2. She was also retired from Riverbend Elementary School. Her life was devoted to sharing the love of Jesus to her family, friends, church and community. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blalock was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Blalock; sons, Alan, Michael, Kenneth and Jerry Blalock; grandson, Zachary; sisters, Evelyn Cagle and Jimmie Nell Beasley and brothers, Harvey and Frankie (twin) Ingram.
Mrs. Blalock is survived by her grandchildren, Josh Blalock (Tiffany), Jeremy Blalock (Danyell), James Blalock (Shenna), Tyler Blalock, Seth Blalock, Justin Blalock, Adam Blalock, Ben Blalock (Danae); 16 great grandchildren; brother, Colvin “Pete” Ingram (Gail) of Gainesville; sisters, Gloria McIntyre (Charles) of Maysville, Elizabeth Cooper of Lula and a number of other loving relatives.
