Mrs. Mary Etta Watson Saylors, age 89 of Lula, Georgia and formerly of Stephens County passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at her residence.
A daughter of the late Clarence Tut Watson and Ruth Poole Watson, she was born October 24, 1934 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived the greater part of her life. She retired from Habersham Plantation with 25 years of service and later worked with Wilkinson Center as a caregiver. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Martin Saylors, three grandchildren, Jessie Danielle Hunt, Timothy J. Williams and Eleisha Williams and by her siblings, Kathleen Adams, Josephine Scheerer, Tut Junior Watson, Robert Watson, Randall Watson, Charles Watson and Kenneth Watson.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Tim Williams of Lula, Georgia; grandsons, Jonah A. Williams and Riley Williams; sisters, Joyce Brown and Evelyn Thurston of Toccoa and Mildred McConnell of Eastanollee; brother, Michael Watson of Martin; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 5, 2024, 3 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Rodney Watson and The Reverend Daryl Lovell officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jonah A. Williams, Dustin Neal, Rodney Watson, Timothy “Tyler” McGlaughlin, Steve Shearin.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Mary Watson Saylors.
