Douglas Wayne West

Douglas Wayne West, age 70, of Dacula, GA passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024. He was preceded in death by parents, Wayne and Faye Stiles West, and brother, Clinton West.  Mr. West is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Sandy Petty West; daughter, Jennifer (Nick) Hulsey of Hoschton, GA; grandchildren, Logan Hulsey and MacKenzie Hulsey; brothers-in-law, Larry Petty of Buford, GA and Wayne (Cathy) Petty of Suwanee, GA; aunts, Kathy Stiles and Mary Ella Moses Smith; nieces, Celeste Lynn, Elizabeth Petty, Kellie Lockhart, Danielle West, Kimberly West; nephews, Keith Petty and Kevin Petty; and numerous cousins. Mr. West was born on July 28, 1953 in Ashville, NC. He was a graduate of North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, GA and retired from Lucent Technologies as a machine operator and fireman after thirty years of service. He also retired as a machine operator after five years from SKF. Mr. West was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Buford, GA. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing at nursing homes. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 124 Braselton Hwy, Buford, GA 30519 with Pastor Ronnie Coley officiating.
