Gary King

Gary King went home to be with his Lord and Savior March 27, 2024.  A warrior throughout his life, Gary was 71 years old.  Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel.  Pastor Danny Newbern will officiate.  Interment will follow in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford.  The family will receive friends Monday, April 1, 2024 from 4 – 8 pm at the funeral home.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Glenn King, mother, Jaynell Wills King, sister, Sheri Pirkle and brother, Kim King.  He is survived by many loving individuals including his wife of 49 years, Marion Nance King, daughter and son in-law, Tiffany and Shannen Williamson, daughter and son in-law, Tonya and Steve McWright, son and daughter in-law, Nathan and Laura King.  Grandchildren, Grace Williamson, Jaden Kangas (Nolan), Amelia Williamson, Meredith Williamson, Noah King, Leila King, Solara Brown, Luke McWright, Truitt King, Lainey King and great grandchildren Malachi Williamson and Kovah Kangas.  As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gary was a 1970 graduate of Buford High School. He worked as a cabinetmaker for 30 years then retired with 21 years of service from the City of Buford. Gary was an avid Falcons fan (through the good and the bad) and in his prime loved to hunt and fish. Gary’s greatest joy was his kids and grandkids and his dog Rocky. He had a love for his community and kids and spent over 10 years coaching baseball, softball and basketball. Gary never met a stranger and would do anything for his friends, family, and community. He loved to make everyone around him laugh and always had a few words of wisdom to share. Gary, husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, coach, you will be greatly missed.
