Jimmy Randal Lord

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Jimmy Randal Lord, age 79 of Athens, Georgia (South Jackson Community) who entered rest Thursday, March 21, 2024.  Mr. Lord was born in Jefferson, Georgia a son of the late Price and Annie Lou Stockton Lord.  Mr. Lord was a member of Galilee Christian Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served as an MP, and was retired as Manager of Metro Refrigeration Supply.  Mr. Lord was a loyal Georgia Bulldogs Fan (Go Dawgs) and a lifelong Braves fan.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Lord is preceded by a brother, Harold Lord.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Dodd Lord of Athens.  Daughter, Suzanne Carver (Jeff) of North Carolina.  Brothers, Don Lord (Maxine) of Commerce, Bud Lord (Doris) of Gainesville, Jerry Lord of Pendergrass.  Sister, Charlotte Lord of Jefferson.  One grandson also survives.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 29, 2024 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Minister Nick Vipperman officiating.  A private burial will be held by the family at a later date.  The family will receive friends 12:00 – 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at Evans Funeral Home.
