James Burton Johnson

James Burton Johnson, age 70, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024. He was preceded in death by parents, Burton K and Doris Neely Johnson. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Valerie Young Johnson; children, Andrew and Jessica Johnson of Aurora, CO, and Melanie Hayden of Pembroke, GA; grandchildren, Grace Hayden, Gabriel Hayden, Olivia Johnson, Rose Hayden, Lily Hayden, and Julia Johnson; sister, Jane (Terry) Hamilton of Griffin, GA; brother, Robert (Suzanne) Johnson; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Johnson was born on August 3, 1953 in Philadelphia, PA. He was a 1971 graduate of Township High School, and a graduate of Rowan University with a Bachelor’s Degree, and a graduate of the University of Colorado with a Master’s Degree. Mr. Johnson was a retired environmental manager with Flowers Foods, Inc. after thirteen years of service. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Suwanee, GA and he enjoyed golf, baseball, and reading. Services will be held out of town at a later date.
