Mary Helen Wise Watson

Mrs. Mary Helen Wise Watson, 95, went to be present with the Lord on March 4, 2024, from Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care in Gainesville, Georgia. Mary was born to the late Oscar and Mary Wise in Cornelia, Georgia on June 16, 1928. She was the sixth of seven children born and the last of the seven to go home to glory. She graduated from Cornelia High School. She moved to Gainesville, Georgia. She met and married her husband of over fifty years, John Willie Watson. She worked at New Holland Mill as a spool spinner for thirty-four years until her retirement Mary gave love and support to her siblings, friends, family, including her church family. For many years, she supported and attended gatherings and reunions for the Wise family. She also hosted family dinners for family and friends, with an open door to welcome everyone. She joined Back to the Bible Miracle Revival Fellowship Center under the leadership of Apostle Raymond Moss in 1976 where later Pastor Bobby Wright was ordained and became her pastor in 1996 were later. Pastor Bryce Wright was ordained and became her pastor. Mary was a faithful and dedicated member and "Church Mother" at Back to the Bible Holiness in Buford, Georgia. She would always have words of encouragement and inspiration for all whom she encountered through the years. She had a strong faith in God and knowledge of his power and love. Her focus was on the salvation of all souls both far and near. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband John Willie Watson, her son Tracy Watson, and her daughter Lydia Thompson, left to remember her love are Mary's five children, Larry Watson, Charles Watson, Sandra Hollingsworth, Tanger (Leon) Osborne, and Sylvia Harrington. Sixteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Mary Helen Watson will be greatly missed by her family but also by her church and the community of Gainesville, Georgia. Her love and legacy will live through her memories held in our hearts forever.
 
Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Rucker Memorial Baptist Church. The visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024, between the hours of 12:00 PM- 8:00 PM at Wimberly Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends between 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM.  Professional services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
