William H. “Bill” Huff, of Cleveland, died Monday, March 11, 2024, at the age of 82.
Bill, as his family and friends knew him, was born on E.J. and Edith Hulsey Huff on August 27, 1941. He was a veteran and served our country in the Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, E.J. and Edith Huff; and brothers, Nick Huff and Mike Huff.
Surviving family members are his youngest brother, Tim Huff and wife Gail; sisters-in-law, Lynn Huff and Sherry Huff; nieces, Lanie Huff Riner and husband Gray, Heather Huff Stewart and husband Billy, Jan Huff Silva; and nephew, Chuck Huff. Bill also had three great nieces and one great nephew.
He had many occupations during his life. The last thing being an OTR truck driver. After his retirement he joined the White County Historical Society and the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He volunteered to scan over 100 family histories, 40 scrapbooks, and over 5,000 obituaries. He also served as treasurer for a number of years for the Historical Society. He gave many programs for both the Historical Society and the SCV. On a personal note, he did an extensive family history at HulseyHeadHuff.net. The White County Historical Society and the SCV gave meaning to his retirement.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. in Cleveland, Georgia. Visitation will be from 12:30 – 2:00 P.m. before the service.
