Mrs. Mary Jane Hulsey, age 87, of Dahlonega, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024. She was born on June 19, 1936, to the late Willie Grace Holbrook Monroe and Walter Scott Monroe.
Mrs. Hulsey was no saint, but a remarkable daughter, mother, wife, and grandmother. She raised chickens until her marriage was over, then she retrained herself as a meat wrapper, retiring from Kroger as such two times. She was a hard worker, who always had a hand to lend and enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, and was a wonderful cook. Jane was a friend to all, a stranger to none. She will be sorely missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two infant sons and ex-husband Seaborn Larry Hulsey.
She leaves behind daughters Neena Hulsey of Dahlonega, Renita Hulsey (Steve Bennett) of Dawsonville, and Cindy Darnell of Dawsonville; son Shawn Hulsey of Dahlonega; numerous grandchildren Maggie Johnson (Chris Heard) of Cumming, Eren Chapman (Jeremiah Chapman) of Dahlonega, Madison Hulsey of Dahlonega, Saylor Pardue (Clay) of Demorest, Emily Herrin (John) of Cornelia, Chase and Zance Hulsey; great-grandchildren Hamp Herrin, Price Herrin, and Bennett Herrin, Achilles and Warrick Chapman, Kai Hulsey, and Hattie Pardue.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Roanoke Baptist Church, 2621 Roanoke Road, Cumming, Georgia, with the Rev. Joe Hulsey officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.
