Michael Douglas Bennett

Michael Douglas Bennett, age 75 of Mountain City, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 01, 2024.

Born in Cornelia, Georgia on December 11, 1948, he was the son of the late Clay Doyle Bennett & Bertie Lee Snyder Bennett. Doug served his country proudly in the United States Army and retired from CSX Railroad with over 35 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, he enjoyed building hot rod cars, riding motorcycles, racing cars, and was a great dancer. Doug attended The Torch Worship Center. He especially wanted to thank his friends for their love and support during his time of need.

Survivors include his daughters & son-in-law, Traci Bennett Batrous & Tony Batrous; Casey Bennett Agnew; son, Michael Dustin Bennett; grandchildren, Gracie, Nash, & Nate Batrous; Baylee & Aubrey Agnew; great-granddaughter, Kinslee Smiley; special friend, Angela Luke as well as a host of other close friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating.
