Mr. Ronald Edward Baker, age 69 of Tugalo Street, Toccoa passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the home of his sister in Toccoa.
A son of the late Sherman and Hazel Spurlock Baker, he was born September 6, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio, having lived in Florida in his younger years, later moved to North Carolina and started his family and moved to Toccoa in 2014. He was employed as a truck driver for many years and most recently employed with Currahee Club in the maintenance department. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially golfing and fishing. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Paula Cook.
Survivors include his daughter, Beverly Baker of Redwood Valley, California; son, Austin Baker of Littleton, North Carolina; grandchildren, Simone Spangenberg and Davie Baker; brother, Larry Baker of Elloree, South Carolina and Elmer Baker of Cross City, South Carolina; sisters, Dorothy Parker of Toccoa; Judy Blake of Roanoke Rapids, North Caroina and Norma Zell of Clarkesville, Tennessee; a number of nieces and nephews.
His wishes were to be cremated. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
