Louis E. Sokowoski Jr.

LTC Mr. Louis E. Sokowoski Jr. Retired, age 88, of Commerce, Georgia passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024. At Athens Piedmont Medical Center after an extended illness.

He was born in Dennison, Ohio on January 17, 1936 to the late Louis and Anna Rybarisk Sokowoski. He was also proceeded in death by two sisters; Mary and Helen.

He served his country in the U.S. Army, and retired as the Deputy Commander of Force Command. He was an active member of the Crossroads Worship Center Church of God.

He is survived by his wife; Eunita Ledford Sokowoski, sons; Jim Sokowoski (Allison), Ricky McClure and Roger McClure, daughters; Janice and Jackie, sister Wanda Dolzanie, he has 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren.

His funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Gary Thompson at Crossroads Worship Center Church of God 365 US-441 Commerce, GA 30529 on Monday March 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday March 11, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM after the funeral. Interment will take place on Tuesday March 12, 2024 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA with full military honors.
