Jennell Voyles Pruett

Jennell Voyles Pruett, 79, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday March 6, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born September 15, 1944 and raised in Cumming, Jennell had been a resident of Dawson County for most of her life.  She was lovingly known as “Memaw” by her family and all of the many children that she helped raise throughout her life.  Jennell was an extremely hard worker who enjoyed being outside, gardening, and making crafts for her kids and grandkids.  She was preceded in death by her parents, James Sweatman and Eddeth Yancey; husband, Robert Pruett; son, Cecil Voyles, Jr.; granddaughter, Britney Cardenas; sister, Renee Morris.

Surviving are her children, Rita Pruett of Dawsonville, Julie Hutton of Dawsonville, Candie Parkey of Dawsonville, Lanier and Angela Voyles of Dahlonega; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Dorsey and Carolyn Sweatman of Dawsonville; sisters, Kate and Jerald Phillips of Cumming, Barbara Cranford of Dawsonville, Elaine and Buddy Barnes of Dawsonville; other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Tim Hubbard will officiate.  Interment will follow in Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 8 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 noon until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to help offset final expenses.
