David Howard Webb, 83 of Gainesville, Georgia passed away on March 1, 2024 after a long struggle with diabetes, stroke, and COPD.
David was born on June 23, 1940 to Howard and Ethel Webb of Demorest, Georgia. He often joked about being born in a barn since he was born at a home that was previously a barn. He was a skilled machinist and worked for General Electric as a turbine technician for over 30 years. Prior to that, he worked at Scientific Atlanta and Tucker Tool and Die.
He is survived by his brother, Daniel Webb; daughters, Pam Thomas, Lisa Mitchell, Kathy Pendley, Amanda Savage, and Misty Trosclair; sons, Matthew Webb and Jonathan Webb; 11 grandchildren, 1 adopted grandchild, and 10 great-grandchildren.
David was an avid outdoorsman, who loved motorcycling, hunting, fishing, and camping. He served as an assistant scoutmaster for several years and he was an active member of his church before his health prevented him from doing all the activities he had enjoyed so much. All of his children have fond memories of being in the woods, at the lake, boating on the Gulf of Mexico, or just riding on the back of his Harley with him. He was a member of the Georgia Mountains Tres Dias community and was able to serve on two mission trips to Nicaragua with his church.
During his later years, David resided at Smoky Springs and Manor Lake in Gainesville as his health was declining. We are confident he is peacefully resting with Jesus until we see him again.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2024 Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel. The family will receive visitors from 12pm until 2pm at Memorial Park. Pastor Chris Webb will officiate. Please feel free to bring any pictures and stories about David to share.
