Loye G. Ledbetter, 85, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at his residence.
Born February 2, 1939 in Dawson County to the late Farris and Annie Mae Ledbetter, he lived in Cobb County for 34 years before moving back to Dawson County 23 years ago. Loye retired from Lockheed following 32 years of service. He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran, served as a deacon of Amicalola Baptist Church and was ordained at Sharon Baptist Church in Cobb County. He enjoyed working in his yard, fishing, was an avid NASCAR fan, and was very devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren. Loye was also preceded in death by his sisters, Wynell Chumley, Aline Stephens; and brothers, Hubert “Pete” Ledbetter, G. W. Ledbetter, and James Ledbetter.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Delores K. Ledbetter, Dawsonville; children, Marc and Michelle Ledbetter, Canton, Gina and Terry Beckwith, Canton; grandchildren, Carson Beckwith, Griffin Beckwith, Tatum Beckwith, Reese Ledbetter, Mia Ledbetter; sister and brother in law, Eulalie and Johnny Philyaw, Dawsonville; sister in law, Yonne Ledbetter, Dawsonville; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tom Stradley and Rev. Joey Stewart will officiate. Interment will follow in the Amicalola Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.
