It is with a heavy heart that we announce Shannon Villacorta, aged 36, was called to her heavenly home on February 25, 2024. Shannon, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and niece, leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. She now finds peace with her brother David Calvert and father Tom Calvert in the presence of our Lord. She is survived by her husband; Diego Villacorta daughters; Braelyn Glean and Sofia Villacorta, her mother and stepfather; Tammy and Chuck Gorrell; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Shannon's life was a journey of love, laughter, and faith. She cherished moments with her daughters, walks in nature, and the simple joy of cooking. Despite her struggles, Shannon's spirit remained unbroken, and her faith steadfast. Her love for her family and her enduring hope were her greatest gifts to us all.
We find comfort in the words of Philippians 4:7: "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." This verse embodies the peace Shannon has found and the solace we seek in her loving memory.
Shannon's enduring spirit, characterized by love and courage, will forever be a beacon of hope for those who knew her. May we all find comfort in knowing she rests in the loving embrace of our Savior.
A visitation and memorial service will be held at Memorial Park, 2030 Memorial Park Rd, Gainesville, GA, starting at 1:30 pm for visitation and 3:30 pm for the service on March 2nd, 2024. In memory of Shannon, the family suggests donations to a cause that reflects her compassionate spirit.
