William C. "Bill" Pfeiffer, III

Obituary Date: Saturday, February 17, 2024

William C. “Bill” Pfeiffer III, age 71, of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024.

Mr. Pfeiffer was born on June 30, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late William C. Pfeiffer II and Mary Ellen Smith Pfeiffer.  Bill and his family moved from Ohio to Sarasota, Florida in 1982, where they lived for 30 years before moving to the North Georgia mountains.  He loved spending time with family, taking RV trips, boating, and fishing.  He had a passion for classic cars and was known for his ability to fix anything; from car engines and auto body work, to pretty much any appliance or household item.  He was very creative and enjoyed woodworking, making small pieces of furniture, signs, and jewelry boxes he often gave as gifts.  In retirement, Bill also found he had a green thumb and grew beautiful roses at their home and kept bird feeders around the property and enjoyed watching the birds visit them.  He particularly loved the hummingbirds that regularly visited him.  Bill had a strong love for animals and had many beloved family pets throughout his life including several rescue and homeless dogs and cats that he took in.  He loved caring for animals and spending time with them.  Bill had a long and notable career as an HVAC technician and mentored and trained many young technicians that were new to the trade.  They always knew if they had a question or problem, Bill could find the answer for them, and many saw him as a second dad.  He will be remembered as a loving, husband, father, and grandfather.  In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his stepson, Tim Lambert.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Pfeiffer; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Jared Light; stepsons and wives, Tom and Baronnie Lambert, Jim and Elaine Lambert, and John Lambert and Cheryl Liles; grandchildren, Madelyn Light, Robert Lambert, Sabrina Elixson, Shawna Lambert, Jennifer Lambert, Tom Lambert, Justin Lambert, Brandon Lambert, and Isaac Liles; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Ken Katowick; and sister, Suzy Gerber.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 23, 2024, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Yonah View Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
