James “Jim” Garmon, age 78, of Braselton, GA, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Leona Garmon; brother, Donnie Garmon; sisters, Rhonda Turner and Iris Simmonds; step-daughter, Dana Everett.
Mr. Garmon is survived by his wife of 45 years, Florence Duncan Garmon of Braselton, GA; children, James W. Garmon of Braselton, GA, Ronald (Julie) Garmon of Tarpon Springs, FL, Rita Ann Warley of Jefferson, GA; Fourteen grandchildren; Seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Lynn Simonton of Hoschton, GA, Debbie Adams of Hoschton, GA; sister-in-law, Mrs. Lewis Duncan of Auburn, GA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Garmon was born March 8, 1945 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army with over seven years of service. He was a 1963 graduate of Duluth High School in Duluth, GA and attended Wofford College. Mr. Garmon retired from Mayfield Dairies as a truck driver with ten years of service.
Jim was an avid fisherman and loved the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Tech. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
A Graveside Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA.
