Mrs. Etheldra Davis Gilmer, age 93 of Toccoa passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at her home.
A daughter of the late Edwin S. Davis and Etheldra Nalls Davis, she was born July 30, 1930 in Macon, Georgia having lived a greater part of her life in Toccoa. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Degree in journalism. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Toccoa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward S. Gilmer, Jr.
Survivors include her son, Thomas Walker, Gilmer, Sr. (Lori) of Toccoa and daughter, Sarah Gilmer Payne of Martin; three grandchildren, Annabelle Virginia Gilmer of New York, Thomas Walker Gilmer, Jr. and Katharine Marrow Gilmer; her caregivers, Tammy Bennett and Sharon Earls, whose compassion and expertise made it possible for her to remain at home in her final days.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, February 21, 2024, 2 o’clock p.m. at the Toccoa City Cemetery with The Reverend Phil Hargrove officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Tim Matthews, David Canady, Ray Crenshaw, Trey Daves, Dru Daves and Evan Hellenga.
Interment will follow in the Toccoa City Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Etheldra Davis Gilmer.
