Harold Conway Brown

Harold Conway Brown of Flowery Branch, Georgia, age 73, died after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on February 17, 2024.  Harold, born on November 11, 1950 in Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, was the second child of the late Harold C. Brown formally of Wheeler County Georgia and the late Geneva Wilson Brown formally of Warren County Georgia.  In 1965 he graduated from Druid Hills High School and attended Southern Tech in Marietta, GA.  He followed in his father’s footsteps and became a skilled electrician.  Harold also became a master in all things related to construction.  For example, in the last months of his life, he designed and help build an addition to the home he and his son shared.

Along the way, Harold married the late Claudia Harris and had two children:  daughter Layla Brown Mroczka and son Harold Conway Brown III both of whom currently reside in Flowery Branch, GA.  At the end of his life, Harold was comforted by his devoted family, many friends and the hospice nurses who cared for him.

Harold was known for his off-beat sense of humor and love of the dogs in his life.  In his teens, Harold began a lifelong appreciation of automotive mechanics and readily offered to help repair family and friends’ cars.  Cooking was another skill that he freely shared with others.  Harold is especially remembered for his barbecue and the beautiful birthday cakes he made for each of his granddaughters.

Harold is survived by his beloved daughter Layla (Andy), granddaughters Mila and Lia Mroczka, son Conway (Tristen), grandsons Bryson, Brown and Eli Harrison.  His sisters Lisabeth Moulder of Tucker, GA and Sandy Lecours of Cumberland, Rhode Island also survive him.  In addition, Harold was blessed to have had a large chosen family of loved ones and friends.  He will be missed.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, February 21, 2024 at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, GA from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
