Mary Lapolian Demory, born on June 24, 1950, in Gainesville, GA, to Clyde and Faydell (Cantrell) Demory, reunited with her heavenly family on Saturday, February 10, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Mary's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with laughter, love, and boundless generosity. Her spirited nature and infectious humor brightened the lives of all who crossed her path, leaving an enduring imprint on the world. Mary's laughter, like a beacon, could pierce through even the darkest of times, filling hearts with joy and warmth. A woman of immense compassion, Mary exemplified selflessness, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Her acts of kindness knew no limits, offering solace and support through her attentive listening, comforting words, and unwavering presence. Educated at East Hall High and Gainesville College, Mary pursued a career dedicated to uplifting others, culminating in her role as Senior Special Development Coach for children with mental disabilities at Parkway Enterprises, where she made a profound difference in countless lives. Known for her passion for thrift shopping, or "Junkin" as it's affectionately known among enthusiasts, Mary had a knack for finding treasures and bargains wherever she went. A devoted member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Mary's faith illuminated her path, guiding her in service to others and fostering love within her community. Mary is preceded in death by her sisters, the late Reverend Julia Demory and Vanessa Clark, and survived by her siblings Doris Maynard, Liesa Hudson, Daryl Hudson, Terry Watson, and her nephews Mark (Jimmy) Maynard-Cabrera and a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved cousins. Mary's legacy of laughter, love, and kindness will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, her joyful spirit forever surrounded by eternal light.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at St. Paul United Methodist Church between the hours of 7:00 PM- 8:00 PM. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
