Geneva Glades Reece, age 81, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on February 15, 2024. She was born on August 5, 1942, to the late Robert Fields and Ruby Pruitt Fields. Geneva's life was marked by her unwavering love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community.
In addition to her parents, Geneva was preceded in death by her siblings, Corky Fields, Geraldine James, and Martha Woodward.
Geneva is survived by her longtime companion, Junior Cable; children Joanne (Richard) Rider and Corky Reece, both of Dahlonega; sister Mary Cantrell, also of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Melissa (David) Perkins, Angela (Lanier) Voyles, Corky Reece Jr., James (Sarah) Reece, and Makayla Harris; 11 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren (1 on the way) all of whom lovingly referred to her as "Nanny", also survive.
Known for her nurturing nature, Geneva cared deeply for everyone around her. She found joy in cooking delicious meals and tending to her beautiful flowers, a reflection of her nurturing spirit and love for the simple pleasures of life.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate the service, with interment following at the cemetery of Concord Baptist Church. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 PM until the service hour.
