Gelain Lancaster Mooney

Gelain Lancaster Mooney, age 82, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, Donald Mooney, and parents, Ernest and Tab Green Lancaster.   Mrs. Mooney is survived by daughters, Anna Mooney of Flowery Branch and Kathy Mooney of Sugar Hill, GA; brother, David Lancaster of Dacula, GA; sisters-in-law, Linda Duncan of Gainesville, GA and Diane Taylor of Flowery Branch; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Mooney was born on December 27, 1941 in Buford, GA and was a 1960 graduate of Buford High School. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Flowery Branch and was a member of the Flowery Branch Homemakers Club. She was retired from G and K Services after a long work history with GA Boot and the Lovable Company.  Gelain loved making crafts and sharing her gifts with others. She called everyone her friend and loved everyone unconditionally. She loved the Lord and cared for her church. Gelain loved her children and was truly grateful and appreciative of their love and devotion. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17 and again on Sunday, February 18 from 12:00 noon until time for the funeral at 2:00 p.m.  There will be a private interment at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to Flowery Branch Baptist Church in memory of Gelain Moooney.
