Judith Brandon

Judith Brandon, 81, of Dawsonville, GA went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 following an extended illness.

Born October 1, 1942 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Judith had been a resident of Dawson County for over 30 years.  She was born and raised in Eau Claire and was a 1960 graduate of Monona Grove High School in Monona, Wisconsin.  Following high school she met her husband and spent the next 20 years in Deerfield, Wisconsin where they raised their children.  Judith was a very talented artist and had been commissioned to complete many paintings throughout her life.  A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Judith loved people, had never met a stranger, and had a wonderful sense of humor.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Chuck and Eleanor Schmitz and a brother, John Schmitz.

Surviving are her husband of 63 years, John Brandon of Dawsonville; children, John Michael Brandon (Joana) of Texas, Beth Bryant (Rodney) of Blue Ridge, GA; siblings, Mary Benish (Ron), Bob Schmitz (Sharon), Dick Schmitz (Cathy), Geri Stankevich, all of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Erin Novak (Eric), Brandon Carter (Kaitlyn), Terri Carter, Elina Mustonen, Sophia Mustonen, Adrian Carter, Sebastian Carter; great-granddaughter, Madison Novak;  nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 in the chapel of Bearden Funeral Home.  Rev. Mike Owens will officiate.The family will receive friends at the funeral home from  12 noon until the service hour on Tuesday.

Interment services will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Georgia National Cemetery.
