Carolyn McEntire Stover

Carolyn McEntire Stover age 74, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, passed away on February 9, 2024. A service celebrating her life will be held Saturday 12 P.M February 17, 2024, in the chapel of Little Davenport Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Carolyn dearly loved her family and is survived by her brother Thomas McEntire, son Brian Greene, daughter and son-in-law Kristen and Jeremy Bruce, daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Micheal Queen, grandchildren Austin and Lacye Jones, grandchildren Ashley Greene and Brannon Bruce, and great-grandchild Blakelynn Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Doris McEntire, and husband John Stover. Carolyn graduated from Tucker High School in 1967. She then got married to her first husband Randy Greene and started a family. Carolyn was a stay-at-home mom who raised three children. After her children were school age Carolyn went to work for Sikes Nursery Daycare and National Data Corporation. After that she married her second husband John Stover and helped him with his small business selling home décor products. With John having three children of his own they had a big family.

Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, gardening, and shopping. One of her favorite places to travel was Honolulu, Hawaii where she went often went with her family. Carolyn loved to cook for her family. She also enjoyed being in nature and planting in her garden. Her favorite movie was The Green Mile in which she watched very often! Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and her many dogs.

Carolyn loved the Lord and went to church. She grew up going to a Methodist church. Our family was sent this poem by a friend and we feel that it represents Carolyn very well.

Gods Garden

God looked around his garden.

And found an empty place,

He then looked down upon the earth

And saw your tired face.

He put his arms around you

And lifted you to rest.

God’s garden must be beautiful

He always take the best.

He knew that you were suffering

He knew you were in pain.

He knew that you would never

Get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough

And the hills were hard to climb.

So he closed your weary eyelids

And whispered, ‘Peace be Thine’.

It broke our hearts to lose you

But you didn’t go alone,

For part of us went with you
