James Franklin Wood

Mr. James Franklin Wood, 83, of Gainesville, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. John Kinsey will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on February 6, 1940 in Commerce, GA, he was the son of the late Ralph and Merle Morris Wood. He was retired from Mar-Jac where he was a maintenance supervisor. Mr. Wood proudly served in the United States Army. He was a member of Harmony Hall Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Wood.

Mr. Wood is survived by his wife, Sandra Gee Wood of Gainesville; daughters and son in law, Pat Morris of Gainesville, Melinda and Tony Neal of Millsboro DE; grandchildren, Jamey Morris and Jack Neal, and a number of other loving relatives.
