James Clyde Townley, 82 of Gainesville went to his heavenly home on Saturday February 3, 2024. James was born in Cumming, GA., on May 4, 1941, to the late Clyde and Louise Townley.
Around the age of 5 yrs. old James ran an extremely high fever which resulted in his delayed learning ability, he loved being outdoors and staying busy. He loved mowing grass, working on the farm, making crafts and sanding his old truck.
James was of Baptist Faith and a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his sisters, Thelma Townley and Martha Talley, brother Dean Townley, brother-in-law John Gober, niece Teresa Miller and nephew Franklin Talley.
He is survived by sisters, Mary Gober, Ruby Nell Graham and Nadine (Ralph) Crumley and several nieces, nephews and many other family members.
Visitation will be Wednesday February 7, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Thursday February 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Cool Springs Baptist Church, Rev. Cecil Townley, Rev. Don Townley and Roger Townley will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
