Ann Burke Appling

Ann Burke Appling, age 80, of Buford, GA passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024.  She was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Louise Holcomb Burke; brothers, Ronald Burke, Willard Burke, and Bobby Burke.  Mrs. Appling is survived by her husband of sixty years, Don Appling of Buford; children, Terri (Jeff) Hill of Jasper, GA, Tony (Kim) Appling of Gainesville, GA, Brian Appling of Buford; seven grandchildren, Christina, Jared, Cory, Tyler, Joshua, Noah, Luke; sister, Florence Wikle of Demorest, GA; brothers, Dan (Peggy) Burke of Clarkesville, GA, Hugh (Hilda) Burke of Clarkesville, Lee (Carol) Burke of Rome, GA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was born on August 14, 1943 in Clarkesville, GA. Mrs. Appling was a 1961 graduate of North Habersham High School and attended Northeast GA Technical College.  She retired from Decision One as an executive assistant with over twenty years of service.  Mrs. Appling was a member of Christ Place Church located in Oakwood, GA.  She was an avid GA Bulldog fan and enjoyed spending time with her family, which was very important to her.  Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at The Grove Church, 1702 Grove Level Road, Maysville, GA 30558 with Pastors Jeff Appling and Jeff Hill officiating.  Mrs. Appling will Lie-in-State at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the Funeral Service hour of 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Habersham Cemetery in Demorest, GA. The family will receive friends at Flanigan Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local church or favorite charity in memory of Ann Burke Appling.
