Pat Braddock

Mrs. Pat Braddock, age 83, of Suches, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024. She was born on July 10, 1940, in Greenville, South Carolina, to the late Willie Lunsford and the late Birdell Tritt Lunsford.

At the tender age of 21, Pat embarked on a lifelong journey with her best friend and soulmate, Bud Braddock. Their love story took them across the United States as they followed Bud's career in Forestry. Through every mile traveled and each new town they called home, their bond deepened, and they crafted a life filled with cherished memories.

Pat was an extraordinary woman with a heart full of love and talents that knew no bounds. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—cooking, quilting, weaving baskets, walking in the woods, tending to her garden, and admiring wildflowers. Her dedication to family was unmatched, and her warmth and kindness left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

As a proud lifelong member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, and a 1958 graduate of Woody Gap High School, Pats roots were cemented in her beloved Suches community.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Bud Braddock; children Paige Braddock (Evelyn) of Sebastopol, CA, and Gueth Braddock (Sherri) of Baton Rouge, LA; brother Jim Lunsford of Murrayville, GA; sister-in-law Eddena Boyd of Brunswick, GA; grandchildren Claire Tinkler (Chase Leblanc), Sarah Lee (Max), and Chandler Tinkler; and great-grandchildren Ruby Lee and Hannah Lee. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives also survive.

A celebration of Pat's life will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Anderson Underwood Funeral Home in Dahlonega, Georgia. Inurnment will take place in the cemetery of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Pat Braddock to either the local missions of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church at 1096 Wolf Pen Gap Rd. Suches, GA 30572, or to the "Mountain Shelter" at pawsga.org.
