Nick William Gazaway, beloved husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on January 28, 2024, at the age of 62. Nick is survived by his devoted spouse of 39 years, Libby Gazaway, his loving children Laura (William) DeLaPerriere, Joshua (Sarah) Gazaway and and his adoring grandchildren Mackenzie and Brianna. He is also survived by his Father George W. Gazaway Jr., Mother Shirley Gazaway Robinson, Brother Vic (Linda) Gazaway, Nephew Merritt Gazaway, Niece Tori Gazaway, Mother-in-Law Dot Corbin, Brother-in law Ken Corbin, and Niece Courtney (David) Elstein, Great Niece Braylynn Elstein, and Great Nephew Corbin Elstein.
Born on October 10, 1961, in Gainesville, Nick graduated from Johnson High School in 1979, where he formed lasting friendships and cherished memories. Nick held a special place in his heart for his beloved childhood friends Mark Smith, Chris Gillespie, Tim Patterson, Jim Bowling and Aaron Wehunt. He had a love for NASCAR where he spent time working in Bill Elliott’s Pit Crew from years 1980 -1986. He enjoyed his yearly beach trips with friends and family. Nick was a leader and mentor. Nick loved his work family at American Yazaki where he was employed since 2010. Nick was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church where he had a special place in his heart for his G.A.P. Sunday School class. Nick’s pride and joy were his two Granddaughter’s, Mac and Bri. Nick will be remembered for his kind heart, mentorship, drive, success of others and unwavering love for his family. The visitation will be on Wednesday, January 31st, 2024, from 4:00-7:00pm at Little Davenport Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February the 1st at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Little Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. David Smith and Rev. Robby Williams will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
