And now, for something completely different - a tribute to the late, great Charles Shideler Sr. We gather here today to remember Charles Shideler Sr., a father, brother, son, and, above all, a goofball.
Charles, also known as "Sir Chuckles the Goofy, " lived a life of unparalleled hilarity. His comedic timing was so impeccable that even the Grim Reaper chuckled when collecting his soul. Charles had a unique talent for turning the mundane into the absurd. Who else could make a grocery run look like a sketch from the Ministry of Silly Walks? His legacy lives on in the laughter he shared and the joy he brought to the world, whether it be through his questionable dance moves or his unforgettable renditions of the Lumberjack Song.
He is survived by his sisters Lynn Cagle, and Dorothy Clark. His children Jamie Weakley, husband JP Weakley, Amy Shideler husband Branson Reed, Mary Shideler, and Charles Shideler Jr. wife Kerri Shideler. His grandchildren are Elizabeth Rosbury, Gabriel Shideler, Divina, Emily Pizzino, Skylar Shideler, Katelyn Shideler, Joselynn Weakley, and Samuel Weakley. His 3 great-grandchildren and numerous lifelong friends The Durens, The Howells, The Tucks.
Let us not mourn his passing with sorrow but celebrate his life with laughter, for Charles Shideler Sr. will forever be remembered as a master of mirth, a Sultan of silliness. And so, let us bid farewell to Charles, the man who taught us that even in the face of the absurdity of life, a good laugh can be the best remedy.
No formal services will be held and at the family's request Mr. Shideler will be cremated.
