Mrs. Angela Pharr (Justice) Halstead of Gainesville left this world to join her heavenly Father and loved ones who have gone before her on Friday, January 26, 2024, surrounded by those she loved dearly. She was a dedicated member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. She was best known for her unconditional love, dedication to family and church, and a constant pursuit of doing for others.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Flat Creek Baptist Church, 5504 Flat Creek Road, Gainesville, GA 30504. Dr. Zack Williams will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will lie in state as the family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from noon until the funeral hour.
Born in Cheylan, West Virginia, Mrs. Halstead was the daughter of the late Andrew Peyton Justice and Ruth Kirk Justice. She retired from Hulsey, Oliver & Mahar, LLP, in Gainesville, GA. Besides her years as paralegal, she was a master gardener, pianist for her church, and she participated in numerous hobbies including scrapbooking, bowling, and baking. She began her career as a stenographer in the FBI where she met the soon-to-be love of her life Charles Stanley Pharr, Sr.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Halstead was preceded in death by her first husband Charles Stanley Pharr, Sr., as well as her sisters Lenore Bell and Aileen Toler.
Mrs. Halstead is survived by her husband, James (Jim) Halstead of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Belle Pharr of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Todd Tipton of Gainesville; grandchildren Keith and Kaitlin Smith, Rane and Jamey Hoge, Storm and Noah Tipton, and Breeze and Sawyer Sprowl; great grandchildren, Clark and Evan Smith, River Brooks Hoge and Gibson Moon Tipton; and sister, Sandra Hoffman; along with multiple nephews and nieces.
