Charles "Charlie" Albert Peppers, age 81, of Auburn passed away Friday, January 26, 2024. Charlie was a Pro Stock driver. He owned a machine shop, built motors and race car motors. He had a dyno that many would come over to use to test engines. He loved racing, was employed with Coca Cola several years before opening his machine shop. Charlie's friends loved to hang out with him at the shop. Many of his friends from all over called Charlie a legend; he was one of a kind. He lived next door to his sister and brother in law and he ate at their house for years or his meals were taken to him. Even though Charlie was never married or had children, he is survived by his nieces who were like daughters Cindy Holtzclaw and husband Troy of Auburn, Connie Ashman and husband Jeff of Winder; sister Faye Day and husband Bobby of Auburn, James Peppers and wife Eileen of Bethlehem and Ivey Peppers of Snellville and a host of other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents JW and Orene Peppers, brothers Joe Peppers and wife Betty, Jerry Peppers, Guy Peppers, Lawrence Peppers and wife Muraline and sister Diane Cronic. Memorial Services will be held 7:00 pm Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Steve Bowivel will be officiating. Interment cremation. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday, February 3, 2024.
