Lamar Weeks

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Lamar Weeks, age 70 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Wednesday, January 24, 2024.  Mr. Weeks was born in Blueridge, Georgia a son of the late Eugene V. Weeks and the late Minnie Hallum Weeks.  Mr. Weeks was a graduate of the University of Georgia where he received a degree in Agriculture Education.  Mr. Weeks was a member of Oconee Baptist Church and was a retired Broiler Manager with Tyson Foods after twenty eight years of service.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Weeks is preceded by two brothers, Phillip Weeks and Harold Weeks.

Survivors include his wife Gail Edwards Weeks of Jefferson.  Son, Justin Weeks (Susan) of Jefferson.  Grandsons, James and L.J. Weeks of Jefferson.  Sister, Linda Helton of Mineral Bluff and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 29, 2024 from Jackson Memorial Park, Commerce, Georgia with Reverend Eric Shelton officiating.  The family will receive friends 11:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home prior to the service.  Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Brandon Patterson, Eddie Fleeman, Donald Ford, Dustin Waldrop, Willie Wilson, Jerry Craver and Brad Loggins.
