Marvin Merrell Harris, Jr.

Mr. Marvin Merrell Harris, Jr., age 84, of Commerce, GA passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Athens.  Mr. Harris was born in Atlanta, GA to the late, Marvin Merrell and Maude Hudson Harris, Sr.  He was retired from General Motors, a Georgia Nation Guard Veteran, and a member of New Salem Methodist Church.

Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Brenda Forrester Harris; son, Mark Harris of Braselton; daughter, Cathy Born of Loganville; sister, Betty Walker of Gainesville; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 30^th at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Carmichael officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5PM to 8PM.  Interment will follow at New Salem Methodist Church Cemetery.
