Cathy Linda Mears

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Cathy Linda Mears, age 65, of Commerce, Georgia who entered rest Saturday January 20, 2024. Mrs. Mears was born in Michigan the daughter of the late James Richard Smith and Bonnie Jean Martin Smith of Mears, Michigan.

Mrs. Mears worked for Dupont but most of all loved keeping her grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Roberts (Dennis) of Commerce, GA. Son, Matthew James Messink (Kayla) of Commerce, GA. Five grandchildren, Jamie Scogin of Blairsville, GA, Gwenyth Roberts, Gabrielle Roberts, Lucas Messink and Morgan Messink all of Commerce, GA. Six siblings and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

A family gathering will be held Saturday January 27, 2024 at Jennifer Roberts residence, 90 Windmill Lane, Commerce, GA 30529 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.

In accordance with Mrs. Mears wishes, she will be cremated.
