Willis Hilliard Kinsey

Obituary Date: Saturday, January 13, 2024

Willis Hilliard Kinsey (Kinzey) went to be with his Savior Jesus on Jan. 13, 2023. At 90 years old, he passed peacefully at his residence in Oakwood, GA.  

He was a lifetime resident of Hall County, the son of late Annie Yancey and Willis H. Kinzey, Sr. He grew up in the Tadmore area, was a member of Harmony Hall Baptist Church, graduated from Airline High School in 1950, before moving to Gainesville. He served in the Army in the Korean War.

He was retired Production Manager of Guilford Mills. He loved to play tennis, garden, and attended Christ Place Church at Blackshear Place for more than 25 years.

He is preceded in death by brothers, Wilburn Kinzey (twin), Wendall, sister, Joann Cantrell, and half-brothers, Marvin and Charles Q. Kent.  

Survived by daughter, Debra K. Catron (Brad), grandchildren Lauryn C. Felts (Matt), and Evan Catron, and great-grandchildren Emery and Wyatt Felts.  Sister-in-laws Sandy Kinsey and Jeanette Kinzey, many nieces and nephews, and longtime friend Betty Beck.  

He is to be laid to rest near family at Harmony Hall Baptist Church Cemetery in a small, private family gathering.  

A celebration of life reception will be planned at Christ Place Church to be announced.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Eagle Ranch or a children's ministry of your choice.
