Mr. Paul Watkins, age 91, of Sugar Valley, GA, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024. He was born on August 1, 1932, to the late Loy and Ella Gregory Watkins. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Alva Lunsford Watkins, and second wife, Inez Gooch Watkins. Paul was a proud veteran and served honorably in the United States Navy. Beyond his military service, Paul was an avid hunter; he found solace and joy in the great outdoors. In his professional life, Paul was a skilled entrepreneur and the proud owner of several small engine repair shops.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-laws Gynnette and Mark Yoho and Gwen and Mike Davis; grandchildren John (Brandy) Phillips, Michele (Michael) Ramsey, Chris Satterfield, Devin Satterfield; great-grandchildren Mikiah Ramsey, Malachi Ramsey, Carli Satterfield, Scout Satterfield, and Knox Satterfield; brothers Fred Watkins and Arvel (Sue) Watkins; sisters Mary Reynolds, Jean Jackson, Edna (Jerry) Greer.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist No. 2 “The Hill” Church, in Suches, Georgia. The Rev. Mark Yoho will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
