Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Allen Drette Dougherty, age 68, of Jefferson, Georgia, who passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024. Mr. Dougherty was born in Macon, Georgia, a son to the late Leo and Ellen McGehee Dougherty. Mr. Dougherty owned and operated Dougherty Extermination for many years, recently worked at The Home Depot in Commerce and was a member of the Crossroads Church of Jackson County. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dougherty was preceded in death by his son, Erik Allen Dougherty.
Survivors include his wife, Terry Held Dougherty of Jefferson; daughter, Amy Morton of Gray, GA; grandchildren, Gabriel Dougherty of Norfolk, VA, Cooper Morton, Harper Morton, Liam Morton and Lexi Raven all of Gray, GA; brothers, Robert Dougherty and his wife Kelly of Cumming, GA ; Roger Dougherty and his wife Carolyn of Sugar Hill, GA; sister, Denise Parker of Melbourne, FL and his mother in law, Norma Held of Jefferson, also survives.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral home with Pastor Rod Zwemke officiating.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Evans Funeral Home, prior to the service.
