Cleo “Sandy” Wyman Fuller, Jr entered into eternal rest on January 11, 2024 after a 4 year battle with Frontotemporal Dementia.
Born on October 3, 1945 in Jamestown, NY to Bernice and Cleo W. Fuller, Sr., Sandy spent his early years in Western NY. After graduating from Falconer High School, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corp where he was awarded multiple medals including “Outstanding Recruit, National Defense Service, Good Conduct and Rifle Marksmanship Sharpshooter. After his service, Sandy went on to wear many hats but found his true calling in sales and management.
Sandy retired from Prudential Insurance Company after more than 20 years as a Sales Agent and Manager. He left behind New York State and fell in love with the South and its weather. There he worked as a Financial Consultant and Planner in Georgia and started several companies. Sandy loved escaping behind the wheel, held a CDL license for more than 5 decades and enjoyed expediting driving in his later years.
Sandy was a 30+ year active member of Christ Lutheran Church where he served as an Assisting Minister, a devoted choir member and a church council member. Besides being very active in his church, Sandy also was active in the community helping those in need through Good News at Noon and Family Promise.
Sandy was a hardworking, Christ loving and fearing man who provided a wonderful life for his wife and family. He was our family patriarch and rock. Whether it be a physical need, a piece of advice, or spiritual guidance, he was the “go to” for our family and many friends; always willing to help and give of himself and his time. He was a fighter, a do-er and a giver and he led many to Christ.
He overcame two heart attacks, lung cancer, and covid but it was ultimately Frontotemporal Dementia that robbed us of our favorite man. The world is a better place because he was in it and we miss him terribly already.
Sandy leaves behind the love of his life, wife of almost 56 years, and caregiver for the last 4 years, Cheryl. He is also survived by his 4 children, Shelli Fuller Dodd of Flowery Branch, Stacy Sager of Roberts, Montana, Shawn Fuller of Jacksonville, Florida and Scott Fuller of Oakwood as well as 7 grandchildren, Zachary (Caroline) Dodd, Kayla Fuller, Solomon Sager, Rylee Dodd, Emmalia Sager, Kaden Martin and Gabe Sager as well as 1 great granddaughter, Maple Mae. He is also survived by his sister, Judy (Wayne) Schroeder, brother, George (Linda) Fuller and sisters-in-laws Connie Fuller and Patty (Mark) Boardman as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Cleo Wyman Fuller, Sr., mother, Bernice (Lewis) Fuller and brother, John Fuller.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, January 15 at 11am at Christ Lutheran Church in Oakwood, GA.
