Brenda Sue Standridge Wiley passed away from an extended illness on January 11, peacefully at her home in Lula, Georgia.
Known to all as “Nana” or “Mama Brenda,” she had a calling and a passion to provide needed food to those facing food insecurity. This calling allowed her to serve as director of 2 food ministries for over 30 years. Mrs.Brenda believed that if the Lord put it in her hands, she should give it away so the Lord could multiply it. Not only did she serve in this ministry, she also trained many children and teenagers to serve as well.
Mrs. Brenda was preceded in death by her husband Aubrey (Roe) Wiley, her sisters Raynell (Buster) Autry, Jean (Neal) Casper, Irene Nation, Doris (Lane) Free, and Betty Standridge. She was preceded in death by her brothers Billy Standridge, Bobby Standridge, Estee Standridge, and Jimmy Standridge. She is also preceded in death by her parents Hoyt and Hassie Fortenberry Standridge.
She is survived by her two daughters Sabrina (Steve) Cape and Redenna (Scotty) Poole, her grandchildren Whitney (Rhett) Rylee, Hannah (Ben) Ivester, Will (Holly) Cape, and Abby (Will) Griffin, and her great grandchildren Bryce, Tucker, Millie Jane, Olivia, Acie, and Rowen.
Receiving of friends and funeral services will be held at Assembly of Praise Church, 6158 Carter Street, Lula. Receiving of friends is Friday, January 12 from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 13 at 11 am with Bishop Scotty Poole, Reverend Danny Oliver, and Reverend Bobby Ivester presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lula Connection Ministry at 6459 Main St. Lula, GA 30554. The family will also be receiving non perishable food items at the visitation for donation to Lula Connection Ministry..
