Gary Clinton Bailey

Gary Clinton Bailey, 86, of Buford, GA passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jo McDonald Bailey; father, John Bailey; mother, Stella Mae Bailey; brothers, Toby Bailey and Harry Bailey; sisters, Barbara Justice and Jane Bailey.  Mr. Bailey is survived by daughters; Kim (Leon) Hansard of Ormand Beach, FL, daughter Tracey (Eric) Fendley of Cullman, AL, daughter Kristen (Shane) Floyd of Flowery Branch, GA; grandchildren Clint Duggan, Dylan (Rachel) Duggan, Kirste Floyd, Kasside Floyd, Kaleb Floyd, Karlee Floyd; and sister-in-law Norma Spengler of Melbourne, FL.

Mr. Bailey was born on May 3, 1937, in East Point, GA.  He was a graduate of Russell High School in East Point, GA and Southern Institute of Technology College in Atlanta, GA.  Upon graduation, he worked with AR Winter Company before becoming the business owner of G.C. Bailey Company, a general contracting company.  Mr. Bailey was a devoted husband of 64 years, father, and grandfather.  Mr. Bailey was also a very caring and giving man who helped family, friends, and neighbors throughout the years, whenever they needed a helping hand.  Mr. Bailey loved UGA football, fishing, gambling, travelling with his wife, and being a “Pop” to his grandchildren. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a future date and time.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Gary Bailey.
