Mr. Jose Manuel Blanco-Almazan, 81, of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024 at his residence following a period of declining health.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Father Jorge Carranza will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Born on May 1, 1942 in Monterey, Mexico, he was the son of Jose Santos Blanco and the late Dorotea Almazan. He was retired from Fieldale and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

Mr. Blanco is survived by his wife, Natalia Pineda de Blanco of Gainesville; daughters, Anavelia B. Hernandez of Decatur, AL, Dorotea Nunez, Maricruz B. Lugo, Veronica B. Garcia, Manuela B. Remes, Yadira Blanco all of Gainesville; son, Manuel Angel Blanco of Gainesville; sister, Maria de Los Angeles Pena of Brownsville, TX; brother, Macario Manrique of Brownsville, TX; 18 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and a number of other loving relatives.

El Sr. José Manuel Blanco-Almazan, de 81 años, de Gainesville, falleció el sábado 6 de enero de 2024 en su residencia luego de un período de deterioro de su salud.

Los funerales se llevarán a cabo a las 15:00 horas. Jueves 11 de enero de 2024 en la Iglesia Católica St. Michael. Oficiará el padre Jorge Carranza. El entierro será en el cementerio Memorial Park. Nacido el 1 de mayo de 1942 en Monterey, México, era hijo de José Santos Blanco y la fallecida Dorotea Almazán. Estaba jubilado de Fieldale y era miembro de la Iglesia Católica St. Michael.

Al Sr. Blanco le sobreviven su esposa, Natalia Pineda de Blanco de Gainesville; hijas, Anavelia B. Hernandez de Decatur, AL, Dorotea Núñez, Maricruz B. Lugo, Verónica B. García, Manuela B. Remes, Yadira Blanco todas de Gainesville; hijo, Manuel Ángel Blanco de Gainesville; hermana, María de Los Ángeles Peña de Brownsville, TX; hermano, Macario Manrique de Brownsville, TX; 18 nietos; 5 bisnietos y varios otros parientes amorosos.
